Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 with RTX 3060 and 144 Hz display on sale with US$500 discount

November is a great time to acquire new technology, thanks in large part to the various Black Friday offers from a range of merchants. Those looking for a mid-range gaming laptop might consider the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, which is available from Best Buy for US$899.99.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 GA401QM-G14.R73060 model is on sale. This version of the Zephyrus G14 features an AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 512 GB PCIe Gen 3 SSD, as indicated by the model name's last numerals. The display is a 14-inch FHD (1920x1080) panel with a 144-Hz refresh rate. According to Asus, the display covers 100% of the sRGB gamut and has a maximum brightness of 300 nits.

We reviewed a similar device last year, however our review unit came with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS processor. The sole difference between our review unit and the one on the market is that our review unit's CPU runs at a little faster clock speed (4.6 GHz vs 4.4 GHz).

The Zephyrus received high marks in our review for its lengthy battery life, excellent CPU performance, and excellent typing experience. We also noticed that the Zephyrus can get over 100 FPS in most 1080p games because to its 144 Hz panel.

The lack of Thunderbolt 3 support implies that external GPU enclosures aren't supported. While gaming, the laptop also gets very hot (55° C under load in the centre of the keyboard). It is also missing a webcam and RGB lighting.

While the design and internals are a year old, laptops with an RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 7-class CPU are uncommon for under $1000, let alone one with this level of build quality and a 144 Hz display. The Zephyrus is normally priced at $1399.99 at Best Buy, but it has been lowered by $500 to $899.99 on Black Friday. If you're looking for a tiny mid-range gaming laptop, this could be the one.

Best Buy sells the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS, Nvidia RTX 3060).

Use any app, but avoid WhatsApp, advises Pavel Durov, the creator of Telegram.

Pavel Durov, the inventor of Telegram, claimed that WhatsApp has been used as a surveillance tool for the past 13 years and urged users not to use it. Pavel Durov, the creator of the instant messaging service Telegram, stated Wednesday in his Telegram channel that WhatsApp has been used as a surveillance tool for 13 years and that users should avoid the messaging program. He claimed that WhatsApp has problems that endanger the data of its users every year. The same problem was brought up in my previous blog post,  How Private Are iPhones, Really, As Apple Claims? Of course, if I update WhatsApp to the most recent version, I'll be safe, am I not? Actually, no. The same exact WhatsApp security flaw was found in 2018, then again in 2019, then again in 2020 (tap each year's link to view the associated vulnerability). And certainly, before that in 2017. WhatsApp has no encryption at all prior to 2016. Every year, we become aware of a new WhatsApp bug that exposes the entire...

While there have already been many reviews of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, one aspect that hasn't been thoroughly examined is the new game's frame rate and resolution on the Switch. Thankfully, a brand-new video from the ElAnalistaDeBits YouTube channel has chosen to examine the game in more detail. What are the outcomes then? The game operates in docked mode at 30 frames per second with 900p resolution. In terms of handheld performance, Sparks of Hope maintains a very constant 30 frames per second and a 612p resolution. The original Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle game, according to Digital Foundry, featured a docked mode resolution of 900p. The frame rate was generally constant at 30 frames per second in both modes while the portable mode operated at about 600p.
