The Tesla robot has finally received a prototype.
Since August 2021, Tesla has made a commitment to publicize a "humanoid" robot—a bipedal machine that can move, act, and behave like a person. The long-awaited device was eventually unveiled by the business on Friday during its annual AI Day at its Palo Alto headquarters. Tesla's advertisements claim that Optimus (the transformer-like robot) will one day assist regular Americans with home tasks and be a cheap product that most people can afford.
Is it still there? No. Absolutely not. However, it's also not quite the complete joke that some of us might have anticipated.
Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, stated on Friday that Optimus was capable of much more than what was shown off during the company's presentation, which, admittedly, wasn't much. “The robot can actually do a lot more than we just showed you,” Musk joked. “We just didn’t want it to fall on its face.”
At last year's AI Day, when Tesla originally revealed its plans for Optimus, Musk made an unfortunate person walk around onstage in an unsightly spandex suit to show what the robot might eventually look like. As many laughed at him, he proclaimed, "The Tesla bot will be real." Since then, Musk has made a number of outrageous claims about the design and operation of this device, including: It will have a height of 5 feet 8 inches. It will completely change how society views work! Your grass will be cut for you by it!
While we are unable to comment on the majority of that, we can state that the information given on Friday was, at the very least, not a person dressed in a suit.

There is a significant functional and price difference between Tesla Bot and Boston Dynamics Spot. However, The Spot is significantly superior to Tesla Bot, and we can only hope that in a few years, Tesla Bot will catch up to The Spot in terms of quality. As Elon Musk stated, AI poses a greater threat to humans than we realize.I hope the Tesla robot never turns us all into slaves
