“Not Interested In Metaverse In The Current Scenario", Say Silicon Valley CEOs

Recent events have increased awareness of the metaverse. The increasing number of fans in the area has led to the emergence of several projects.

Some tech company CEOs, though, have shown less excitement for the metaverse. Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft's gaming division, and Evan Spiegel, the CEO of Snap, for instance, both admitted they weren't huge fans of the metaverse.

They expressed their lack of concern about the metaverse's current state during a recent Wall Street Journal event.

The metaverse is currently portrayed by Spencer as a collection of shoddy video games. The poor interface quality and poor graphics in its environment serve as indicators of this.

Spencer emphasized the benefits of the gaming world over the metaverse, including the development of numerous interesting virtual worlds. Additionally, he likened virtual conference rooms to most metaverse efforts.

The head of Microsoft's gaming division went on to highlight the majority of video game developers' special talent. Additionally, he pointed out that their projects present vivid worlds with greater appeal for pleasure and leisure. The boss declared that he will never participate in metaverse projects that have a conference room feel to them.

Spiegel likened the encounters to being inside of a computer. He stated that the primary level is where the iterations of the metaverse concept are at the moment. Therefore, after a demanding workday, spending his time on such initiatives won't thrill him.

Spiegel added that Snap had focused more on improving the software of its service than on lowering the hardware. Instead, it intends to follow fashion by swiping at the virtual reality (VR) equipment. This will enable the project to use augmented reality to deliver a spectacular experience in the real world (AR).

VR and AR's Effects on Users

The virtual world is creating a setting that will reflect the actual world and offer exhilarating experiences to consumers. While augmented reality (AR) enhances a real-world context, virtual reality (VR) delivers an immersive atmosphere. To access VR, a user needs a headset device. That's not the case with AR, though.

Additionally, VR users interact with a vast array of friction. However, through their interaction, AR users continue to be in direct contact with the outside world.

As A Word With A Broad Term, Metaverse

Some people still struggle with the metaverse's full implications. The business chose not to use it as a phrase, according to Disney CEO Bob Chapek. He explained that this is because the phrase is broad and is seen as a storytelling innovation for the next generation. Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of marketing, said he would never use the metaverse. He claimed that the company favors AR over VR.

Use any app, but avoid WhatsApp, advises Pavel Durov, the creator of Telegram.

Pavel Durov, the inventor of Telegram, claimed that WhatsApp has been used as a surveillance tool for the past 13 years and urged users not to use it. Pavel Durov, the creator of the instant messaging service Telegram, stated Wednesday in his Telegram channel that WhatsApp has been used as a surveillance tool for 13 years and that users should avoid the messaging program. He claimed that WhatsApp has problems that endanger the data of its users every year. The same problem was brought up in my previous blog post,  How Private Are iPhones, Really, As Apple Claims? Of course, if I update WhatsApp to the most recent version, I'll be safe, am I not? Actually, no. The same exact WhatsApp security flaw was found in 2018, then again in 2019, then again in 2020 (tap each year's link to view the associated vulnerability). And certainly, before that in 2017. WhatsApp has no encryption at all prior to 2016. Every year, we become aware of a new WhatsApp bug that exposes the entire...
